What we collect
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate site usage โ which pages are viewed, approximate country and region, device type, and how long people stay. This data is anonymized, aggregated, and used only to understand what's useful and fix what isn't.
We do not collect your name, email, phone number, address, or any other personally identifiable information. There are no contact forms or sign-up flows anywhere on this site. If you email us (see Contact), we treat your email address with standard confidentiality and don't share it with third parties.
Cookies
We use a single third-party cookie: the Google Analytics _ga cookie (and a
related _ga_* session cookie). These are used to distinguish unique visitors
and sessions in aggregate reporting. They contain a random identifier, not personal data.
You can block these cookies via your browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on without affecting the site's content or functionality.
What we do NOT do
- We do not operate contact forms, lead-generation flows, or "request a consultation" widgets.
- We do not sell, rent, or share visitor information with senior-care operators, insurance companies, or placement services.
- We do not display advertising that tracks visitors across other websites.
- We do not create user profiles, run marketing automation, or build retargeting audiences.
- We do not place affiliate cookies or redirect traffic through referral networks. (If that changes, this page will be updated and we'll disclose the relationship on every page where an affiliate link appears.)
Third-party services
We use Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) for aggregate web analytics, and our site is hosted on Amazon Web Services (S3 + CloudFront). Both providers process data according to their own privacy policies: Google Privacy Policy ยท AWS Privacy.
Content sources and corrections
Our state Medicaid data is sourced from state Medicaid agencies, the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), NCOA, KFF, and other public data. We take accuracy seriously; if you find something wrong, let us know and we'll correct it.
Children's privacy
Elder Care Index is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any data from children.
Your rights
Because we don't collect personal data, there is no data to access, correct, or delete. If you live in a jurisdiction with data-protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and want written confirmation of that, email contact@eldercareindex.com.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if our practices change โ for example, if we add an email newsletter or an affiliate relationship. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version. Material changes will be reflected in that date.
